Preparing for Worship: Transfiguration Sunday - February 26

God Calls Us to Worship Him

Hymn of Acclamation: "Gloria Patri"

Glory be to the Father

And to the Son

And to the Holy Ghost

As it was in the beginning

Is now and ever shall be

World without end

Amen Amen

Hymn of Invocation: "Come, Holy Ghost"

Be not afraid where you go

There I am with you

Come Holy Ghost Creator blest

And in our hearts take up Thy rest

Come with Thy grace and heav'nly aid

To fill our hearts which Thou hast made

To fill our hearts which Thou has made

O Comforter to Thee we cry

Thou heav'nly gift of God most high

Thou fount of life and fire of love

And sweet anointing from above

And sweet anointing from above

O Holy Ghost through Thee alone

Know we the Father and the Son

Be this our firm unchanging creed

That Thou dost from them both proceed

That Thou dost from them both proceed

Praise we the Lord Father and Son

And Holy Spirit with them one

And may the Son on us bestow

All gifts that from the Spirit flow

All gifts that from the Spirit flow

God Graciously Renews Us in Christ

Confession of Sin

Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us.

Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us.

Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, grant us peace.

Forgiveness of Sin through Christ

"We thank you, O God, for your patience that you have given us for so long and for the grace that now makes us willing to be yours. Unite us to you with inseparable bonds that nothing may ever draw us back from you, our Lord and our Savior."

(From an excerpt prayer “The Gospel Way” from The Valley of Vision)

Hymn of Assurance: "Lamb of God"

You came from heaven's throne

Acquainted with our sorrow

To trade the debt we owe

Your suff'ring for our freedom

The Lamb of God in my place

Your blood poured out my sin erased

It was my death You died

I am raised to life

Hallelujah the Lamb of God

My name upon Your heart

My shame upon Your shoulders

The pow'r of sin undone

The cross for my salvation

There is no greater love

There is no greater love

The Savior lifted up

There is no greater love

Thanking God for What He Has Done

“Lord, we will sing of your love forever;

from age to age our mouths will proclaim your faithfulness.

We are persuaded that your love is established forever;

you have set your faithfulness firmly in the heavens.” (Psalm 89:1-2)

Giving Our Tithes and Offerings

Would you consider giving to the Thompsons? Justin and Blythe Thompson are former interns at Calvary that now serve as missionaries to the U.S. Army. The Thompson’s son, Wyatt, has a lesion on his brain that is consistent with ALD. Their doctors recommend that Wyatt receives a bone marrow transplant in Minneapolis. Your contribution would help with the travel and medical expenses for Wyatt's care. You may contribute to Calvary but designate it to the Thompsons so those monies get to them.

Hymn of Affirmation: "Hungry"

Hungry I come to You

for I know You satisfy

I am empty but I know

Your love does not run dry

So I wait for You

So I wait for You

I'm falling on my knees

Offering all of me

Jesus You're all this heart is living for

Broken I run to You

for Your arms are open wide

I am weary but I know

Your touch restores my life

God Instructs Us through His Word

Genesis 43-45

God Feeds and Nourishes Us through His Supper

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, God is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

(1 John 1:8-9)

"Seeing that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, Let us come boldly into the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

(Hebrews 4:14, 16)

God Blesses Us and Sends Us Out

"Now let all men in Zion declare his gracious name, with one accord. So that all nations will fear the name of the Lord, that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord."

(Psalm 102:15, 18)
