The Church's Servant Leaders
God has also gifted Calvary Baptist Church of Lenexa with people that dedicate their time and lives to serving Calvary Baptist Church. The men below were selected and chosen for their willingness to serve and in accordance with 1 Timothy 3. The word "deacon" means "servant." These men lead others through selfless service.
Ralph Campbell, originally from Lawrence, Kansas, has attended Calvary since 2008. Ralph has been married to his wife, Sheila, for fifty-two years. They have three grown children and four grandchildren.
Tim Scribner, who is originally from Overland Park, Kansas, has attended Calvary since 2003 and has served as a deacon since 2014. He celebrated forty-four years of marriage to his wonderful wife. They have two daughters and seven grandchildren. Tim spends his spare time working with stained glass and golfing.
Brent Horn is originally from the Kansas City area, then moved to Shawnee in 1978 after retiring from the Air Force. He has been attending Calvary since 1995. He and his wife, Anne, have three grown children and six grandchildren. Brent enjoys working in the yard.
Joe Shanafelt is originally from Oklahoma and has been attending Calvary for over thirty years. He and his wife have two grown children and one grandson, all of whom live out of the state. Joe enjoys fishing and spending time outside, unless it’s cold.
Brian Stacy has been at Calvary since 2015. He is originally from Milwaukee, WI. Brian has been married to his wife Janet for thirty-five years and has two sons and four grandchildren. Brian enjoys making crafts, painting, and reading.
