The Church's Servant Leaders
God has also gifted Calvary Baptist Church of Lenexa with people that dedicate their time and lives to serving Calvary Baptist Church. The men below were selected and chosen for their willingness to serve and in accordance with 1 Timothy 3. The word "deacon" means "servant." These men lead others through selfless service.
Michael Frets is originally from Olathe, Kansas. Michael has attended Calvary since 2014 and began serving as a deacon in 2018. In his free time, Michael likes playing video games and spending time with his two dogs, Klondike and Dilly.
Joe Shanafelt is originally from Oklahoma and has been attending Calvary for over thirty years. He and his wife have two grown children and one grandson, all of whom live out of the state. Joe enjoys fishing and spending time outside, unless it’s cold.
Tim Scribner, who is originally from Overland Park, Kansas, has attended Calvary since 2003 and has served as a deacon since 2014. He celebrated forty-four years of marriage to his wonderful wife. They have two daughters and seven grandchildren. Tim spends his spare time working with stained glass and golfing.
